Historical Milestones of the Museum

1996:  Established as a 501(c)3 charitable institution

1998:  Marchal Museum, largest Scouting Museum in Europe, moved from

            Switzerland to Las Vegas to be part of our collection

1998:  Designated as Home of the World Scout Bureau Memorabilia Collection

1999:  Over 300 people from 3 continents attended the Dedication of the Museum as

            the doors opened to the public.

2001:  Museum becomes the official Museum of the International Scout Collectors

            Association

2003:  First expansion of the Museum

2004:  Secretary General  of the World Organization of the Scout Movement visits

            the Museum

2005:  Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America visits the Museum

2005:  Second expansion of the Museum

2006:  South African Scouts become visitors from the 6th Continent to visit the

            Museum

2007:  Third expansion of the Museum

2008:  National Commissioner of Scouts Australia visits the Museum

2009:  Museum celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its Dedication, with over 425

           people attending

2010:  John Huskins,  former Chief Scout Gilwell, presents to the Museum the original

           DiniZulu beads given by Baden-Powell to Belge Wilson in 1923 and one of the

           Akela Awards (Wolf Fang), used at Gilwell 1923-1927 to recognize trained 

           Cub Leaders

2012:  Museum moves to new 13,000 sq. ft. building at 3025 West Sahara
